Academic Supervisors welcome speech

A Competition makes one strive to do better.

It trains to seek out challenges and to endure setbacks”

Esteem chief guest of the day Ms. Ruqaiyah Al-Hamdan Assistant for educational affairs Girls department. Head of private and foreign education Ms. Fatimah Al-Rahaily, Supervisor for Foreign Education in Yanbu  Ms. Nadia Al-Ghamdi , Supervisors of other department , members of the jury, the principals of other International Schools in Yanbu, teachers of all the schools and dear students a very good morning and Assalamu Alaikum .On behalf of the organizing team of today’s event I take this opportunity to welcome one and all on this auspicious occasion. The present of all distinguished guest will encourage all the participants.

It’s only due to the effort of Mrs. Nadia that we are all together on one platform which will give us an opportunity to share our ideas and views. If we work together we can organize more effectively various curricular and co-curricular activities which will help the all-round development of our students’ personality and this is the prime aim of today’s education.

We have all assembled here to encourage, appreciate and nurture our young talents in the form of inter school competition.

At this juncture it is very essential to know the importance of such competitions. Once we introduce competitions among the students, most of the studies show that they start to do better while competing with each other. A healthy competition boosts one’s talent, skills and inculcate the qualities of sportsman spirit, team work and cooperation.

As you all know today we are going to have debate, Spelling bee and quiz competitions I would like to highlight the importance of such events.

Debate is one of the best tools to develop oratory and speaking skills in our students which gives self-confidence to express themselves effectively and boldly to impress and convince the listeners.  Spelling competition helps the students to enhance their vocabulary with correct pronunciations whereas quiz gives an opportunity to boost general knowledge, understanding and presence of mind. All these competitions would certainly develop the critical thinking and creative skills which will make them to take appropriate decision to do the progress in life.

On this occasion I would like to advise all the participants who are representative of their schools to participate in the true spirt of sportsmanship, as the ultimate victory in a competition is derived from the inner satisfaction of knowing that you have done your best and got the most out of what you have performed. Remember that the opportunity knocks at the door of every individual but the one who recognizes it, is the real winner and goes up in life. Hence, every participant here is a winner irrespective of any result. So be positive and be a good sport because there is no life without sport and no sport without competition.

Once again I would like to welcome all of you and thank for taking your time out from your busy and hectic schedule to make this occasion a very successful and memorable one. Wish good luck to all the participants.

Thank you

By Mrs.Mumtaz Khan
