Breast Cancer Awareness at YEIS

Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast Cancer Awareness campaign is an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer.  As a part of the awareness campaign, YEIS students of grade 9 and 10 GS, visited Yanbu National Hospital on Tuesday, 31st of Oct, 2017.

The students distributed brochures titled “Early detection is the solution”.  A banner which depicts the awareness was put up near the reception of the Yanbu National Hospital which attracted many visitors. They also distributed pomegranate juices and dry figs, a food source which could prevent breast cancer.  The patients effected and undergoing treatment was visited by the students and flowers were distributed to the diseased wishing them speedy recovery.  Lastly, the students’ attended an awareness lecture conducted by the staff of Yanbu National Hospital which added more knowledge and awareness for them on preventing breast cancer.

The students were accompanied by Ms. Wafaa Taukan, Activities coordinator YEIS and Ms. Gliza Menor, Academic coordinator YEIS, GS.  The banner prepared by our students is now put in the Yanbu city snap.  Their hard work has been paid off.

The students had worked very hard along with the academic coordinator Ms.Gliza and Ms.Wafa to make this possible. I’m extremely proud to know that their work has been recognized and appreciated by the Doctors and staff of National hospital.
